Continuing the Matariki season, we’re proud to present a special screening of short films curated by Māoriland. These indigenous stories reflect the themes of Matariki — whakapapa, remembrance, and renewal — through the powerful lens of film and art.
Māoriland is Aotearoa’s premier international Indigenous film festival, based in Ōtaki. Since its founding in 2014, Māoriland has championed Indigenous storytelling from around the world, creating platforms for connection, expression, and cultural exchange. Rooted in kaupapa Māori values, the festival continues to support emerging and established filmmakers and celebrates the vibrancy of Indigenous creativity across generations.
