Have you always wanted to learn to dance?
Maybe you've seen Dancing with the Stars or been inspired by social media?
Well, let us help you take that first step into Latin Dance.
This beginner's course covers the basics of Bachata dance with social dancing in mind.
The course is progressive, with each week building on the one before.
So whether you are totally new to dancing, new to Bachata, or want to improve your basics, this course is for you!
Dates: Tuesday evenings, 1st July to 19th August - 8 weeks
Time: 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Venue: St James Church, 82 Nixon Street, Hamilton East.
What to expect: Each 1-hour class starts with a warm-up covering basic steps danced to counts and music.
This is followed by a short partner work sequence, taught step by step, and danced to counts and music.
The class is rotational, i.e., we change partners regularly within the class. This means you don't need to bring a partner.
The class is also open to couples who don't wish to rotate.
What to bring: A water bottle and a warm layer for after class.
What to wear: Please wear clothes you can move easily in.
Please wear shoes that fit well, you can balance well in, and that have little grip. i.e., NOT sneakers, boots, stilettos, or wedges.
Guys, please, no black soled street shoes as they mark the church floor. Ladies' heels or flats are fine.
If you are looking for a pair of dancing shoes, we have a few pairs of shoes and heel caps for sale. Just ask the teacher.
Cost: $10 per person per class.

8 x Classes = $60
16 x Classes = $110
24 x Classes = $150
Payment can be made on the day of attendance via cash or bank transfer.
