Forest History Walking Tour of Vancouver’s Gastown & Railtown

SUNDAY, JULY 6th, 9:00am -11:30am

Join us for a 1.5km guided walking tour of the fascinating, multi-cultural history of the forest industry’s presence in the old Vancouver neighbourhoods of Gastown and Railtown. Buildings, landmarks, stories, logger poetry and photo displays – with special guests, including Lisa Smith (author, Hastings Mill Store Museum curator).

START: 9:00am at Victory Square, once the centre of Vancouver’s business district. FINISH: 11:30am at Railway St & Dunlevy, near the sites of the Hastings Sawmill and the old First Nations village of K’emk’emeláy.

PARKING: EasyPark parkade at Pender and Cambie. Adjacent street parking for up to 4hrs.

(OR: There is also plenty of free parking at the end of the route, on Alexander or Railway Streets, less than 15 minutes’ walk from the tour route start.)

LUNCH: There are two small restaurants located at the tour route finish.
