Woodland Play Summer Sessions 2025

Where: Pollok Country Park
When: 9.30am - 4pm
Age range: Between ages 5 to 11
Cost: £135 for all three days

Play and learning in nature for 5 - 11 year olds in Glasgow's Pollok country Park during Summer school holidays.

Forest School is great way to get the kids out in the fresh air during their holidays and these sessions are designed for children to learn through play and have fun. Some of the things we get into include:

...exploring
...woodland based games
...building tree swings
...making climbing webs
...putting up hammocks and dens
...using hand tools for simple craft activities with wood
...making toys or play objects out of natural materials

...opportunities to learn about wildlife plants and nature
...learn about fire
...whittling sticks
...cook a snack on the fire
...singing
...stories

...the list goes on!

Based at Pollok Country Park these sessions are six hours of woodland play led by forest school leaders at a dedicated forest school site (WOKers you haven't been to this camp!) for three days during the summer holidays.

Siblings are very welcome to come together and you might consider booking friends in together too - forest school is a brilliant way for children to strengthen their relationships.

Kit to pack:
Lunch
Snacks
Small bottle of water or juice - at least 500ml, less than 1 litre should be fine.

What to wear:
Waterproof jacket
Waterproof trousers
Wellies or sturdy waterproof shoes
You know what Scotland's like at this time of year! At least 2 layers under waterproofs, one layer on bottom will probably do unless it's forecast below 5 degrees celcius - more layers needed if it gets this cold!
Hat if they want
Please pack small and light, in a small backpack they can easily carry. And be prepared for whatever they're wearing to get dirty.
