π Day 1 β Batemans Bay to Albury
We hit the road with a morning tea stop in Bungendore, lunch (own cost) in Gundagai, and a quick visit to Holbrook.
Then itβs on to Albury, where we settle in at the Quality Siesta Motel for a relaxing evening with dinner included.
π³οΈ Day 2 β Albury to Charlton
After breakfast at the Quality Siesta Motel, we travel to Echuca for morning tea (own cost), then board the PS Canberra for a relaxing cruise along the Murray River. π’
The cruise includes a scenic journey with a delicious lunch served at Morrisonβs Winery. π·
In the afternoon, we head to the Charlton Motel for dinner and an overnight stay.
π³οΈ Day 3 β Charlton to Mannum
After breakfast at the hotel, we stop at Nhill for morning tea (own cost), then enjoy a lunch break (own cost) in Keith.
Later, we arrive at Mary Ann Reserve, Mannum, where we board the PS Murray Princess for the next part of our river journey. π’
- π³οΈ Evening on the PS Murray Princess
After boarding, we enjoy a warm welcome dinner aboard the majestic PS Murray Princess.
As night falls, we cruise under floodlights to our overnight mooring at Caurnamont, with onboard entertainment for the night owls. πΆπ
Keep your eyes peeled along the riverbanks for amazing nocturnal wildlife β including kangaroos, hairy-nosed wombats, tortoises, egrets, and more! π¦π¦π’
π Day 4 β PS Murry Princess
Daybreak is perfect for keen photographers to capture the magical morning light and lively wildlife along the river. Keep an eye out for abundant birdlife, including pelicans, wrens, and swans. π¦©πΈ
Enjoy a leisurely morning tea and lunch as we cruise upriver to Blanchetown, passing through one of the 13 locks that help maintain the Murrayβs flow and water levels. π’
π Day 5 β PS Murry Princess
After breakfast, we cruise downriver to the historic town of Swan Reach, settled in the 1850s and known for its native flower and fruit growers. Explore the original homestead, join a walking tour, and visit the Swan Reach Museum (gold coin donation).
After lunch, relax on the cruise as the stunning Murray River scenery slips by.
Then onto Sunnydale, where you will experience the Woolshed Show, a lively recreation of traditional Australian woolshed life, followed by a visit to the Native Wildlife Shelter caring for South Australiaβs unique animals.
Finish the day with a classic Aussie BBQ on the riverbank.
For night owls, an optional nocturnal tour (additional cost) offers spotlight views of kangaroos, wombats, bats, and more, along with stops to admire the incredible night sky of the River Murray International Dark Sky Reserve. ππ¦
π Day 6 β PS Murry Princess
Start the day with an optional Bush Tucker breakfast (extra cost) or a bush walk with the Captain.
Cruise downriver past stunning cliffs to Ngaut Ngaut Aboriginal Reserve for a guided tour of ancient rock carvings and rich Aboriginal history.
Continue cruising to Younghusband, with an optional scenic tender boat ride for the adventurous.
Tonight, enjoy a delicious dinner in the Sturt Dining Room, followed by lively evening entertainment. πΆπ½οΈ
π Day 7 β Mannum to Mildura
After breakfast, we say goodbye to the PS Murray Princess and disembark at Mannum Wharf.
We then travel to Renmark for lunch (own cost) and sightseeing, including the option to visit the PS Industry Museum (own cost). π’
In the afternoon, we head to Mildura and check in at the Inlander Resort for relaxation before a delicious 2-course dinner (included).
π³οΈ Day 8 β Mildura to Hay
After breakfast at the Inlander Resort, we head to the Mildura Wharf for morning tea and a bit of sightseeing (own cost).
At 10:30am, we board the historic PS Rothbury for a relaxing 2-hour cruise, including a light lunch with sandwiches, cake, and tea/coffee.π’π«
After disembarking, we travel to Hay, arriving at the Bishop Lodge Comfort Inn for a 2-course dinner and overnight stay. ποΈπ½οΈ
π Day 9 β Hay to Batemans Bay
After breakfast at Bishops Lodge in Hay, we begin our journey home with stops along the way for morning tea in Narrandera (own cost) and lunch in Gundagai (own cost). βπ½οΈ
We will have quick stops in Ngunnawal and Braidwood, before arriving back in Batemans Bay around 5:30pm.
