A songwriter of strange but compelling folk songs, Tom Woodward honed his craft in the thriving arts & music scene of Canberra and Melbourne in the mid 2000s.
In 2023 he put down his guitar and started walking north from Batemans Bay, with nothing but a camping hammock and a sleeping bag. Two months and 1200kms later he wound up hospitalised on the Gold Coast, having earned a respect for the fragility of life. A year and a half later he got deported as an illegal alien from the USA. His 2024 album, Revolving Doors, was composed in the twilit limbo between these two life shattering events.
Since its release in September last year, Tom Woodward has been touring Australia relentlessly, playing and recording and constantly writing. Catch him at Smokey Dan's on July 12 for an intimate and hilarious series of anecdotes, songs and his unique fingerstyle guitar wizardry.
