Paddle Out for Whales began as a peaceful protest during the early days of Hervey Bayβs whale-watching legacy. What started as a heartfelt tribute to whales lost to whaling has grown into a powerful movement of hope and action β with every flower cast into the sea symbolising remembrance and resilience. This moving ceremony includes a minute of silence to honour the whales and our shared responsibility to protect their world. Itβs a chance to reflect, connect, and be part of something bigger than ourselves.
