“Through the beauty of song, I invite audiences to pause and reflect – to draw them into a space where they can connect with our culture in a moving and memorable way.” Kyarna
Singer-songwriter and guitarist Ron Callaghan and Kyarna of the Yuin Nation share their songs and stories, honouring the strength, resilience, and creativity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Dr Joyce Donovan will open the concert with a welcome to the country, supported by the music of her great-grandson Quinten Donovan.
Join us for this special NAIDOC Week event and enjoy performances by Ron Callaghan, a proud Walbunja and Dhungutti man known for his heartfelt songs and soulful melodies. Ron’s music reflects life, family, and culture, delivered with gentle guitar and a moving vibrato.
Kyarna, raised in the Illawarra, is celebrated for her powerful voice and songwriting. She has performed alongside legends like Troy Cassar-Daley and Paul Kelly. Her lyrics explore themes of love, loss, addiction, and healing, inviting audiences to connect deeply with culture.
The event will be opened with a Welcome to Country by Dr. Joyce Donavan, and her great-grandson Quinten Dingo, a Dapto High School student, will perform.
