THE BURNING [FREE SCREENING]

As the rains subside and temperatures rise once more, signaling the changing of the season from spring to summer, people once again leave their homes for the Great Outdoors. They gather around the campfire at night to tell jokes and eat s'mores, but also to share in the ghastly delights of the ghost story. Unfortunately for them...

A legend of terror is no campfire story anymore!

This June, TVs of Terror returns to the deep, dark woods surrounding Saturn for another trip to the murder cabin, this time bringing along a somewhat under-seen entry in the grand slasher tradition of the late-70s and early-80s - Tony Maylam's 1981 deathfest The Burning.

Starring Holly Hunter, Fisher Stevens, and Jason Alexander (George Costanza, Seinfeld), this tale of bloody revenge concerns a camp caretaker named Cropsy who was burned alive during a prank. Five years later, the now-counselors of Camp Stonewater return to find that not only is Cropsy still kicking, he's also killing.

We're excited to bring you yet another entry in the slasher canon that might be missing from many of your shelves! There'll be plenty of mayhem and goofs in store for this screening, so prepare yourselves to get toasted and attempt to survive...The Burning!
