2025 Freedom Festival at the Redding Civic Auditorium

Enjoy fun, fireworks, food, and a festive atmosphere at the City of Redding’s 2025 Freedom Festival on Friday, July 4th, at the Redding Civic Auditorium grounds! This FREE fireworks show is one of the largest in California, with over 1,700 shells produced by Pyro Spectacular and sponsored by the McConnell Foundation.

In preparation for the Freedom Festival, the community is advised to prepare for the following closures:

• The boat ramp behind the Rodeo Grounds at the Sundial Bridge will be closed on Tuesday, July 1st, at 9 pm and will reopen on Saturday, July 5th, at 12 pm. Charter boats can request access via the Redding Recreation Office at 530.225.4095.

• The westbound Highway 44 offramp to the Sundial Bridge Drive will be closed at 8:00 pm to all traffic. Please use an alternative route after 8:00 pm to Park Marina Drive or Butte Street.

• Community members will need to arrive at the Redding Civic Auditorium no later than 9 pm on Friday, July 4th. The overpass will be closed to cars once all of the parking lots are full. The Sundial Bridge will close at 9 pm to prepare for the fireworks.

Freedom Festival festivities include:
• 5–9:55 PM: Food vendors will be on-site, selling food, snacks, and drinks. Vendors will offer a variety of options, including dinner, shaved ice, water, drinks, and more.

• 7 PM
Neon Playboys, an all-genre cover band, will provide live music during the festival. Please note that the stage will be in a different location this year, at the western-most portion of the grass, across from KRCR News and Viking Skate Country. Be sure to turn your seats toward the Sundial Bridge in time for the fireworks show.

• 10 PM
The fireworks show will begin. Q97 will provide the soundtrack for the fireworks show. Tune in to 97.3 FM.

Please be advised that any remaining fireworks that have not been set off during the show will be set off by Midnight, so additional fireworks may be heard after the finale. The Redding Fire Department will be on-site at all times until all of the fireworks have been set off.

As the 4th of July approaches, the Redding Fire Department and the City of Redding want to remind the community that ALL fireworks are illegal in Shasta County without a permit, including in the City of Redding. Fireworks cause fires! It’s not worth the risk of wildfire or the fines. Please leave the fireworks to the experts.

The use of drones will NOT be permitted during the entirety of the show. The Freedom Festival is a family-friendly event. Alcohol, tobacco, and drugs are strictly prohibited. Dogs and other pets are also not allowed, with the exception of leashed service animals.

For more information, including vendor lists and FAQs, please visit cityofredding.org/freedomfestival.

The City of Redding would like to wish the community a safe and happy 4th of July.
