A brief consideration of Ethics: is doing good really good?

Our next talk is on Ethics by Daryl Seivewright, who first encountered ethics during his architecture degree in relation to the construction industry. This one small learning module made a big impact on how he viewed his actions and the consequential impact of them on life and work.
He later became further drawn into ethics when he subsequently became a chartered surveyor, where behaving ethically is at the heart of what it means to be a qualified professional in this global institution.
Daryl will give a little insight into ethics, how it can be applied to everyday life in much of what we do - from carrying out simple tasks to how we treat others – how ethics aren’t always well received or reciprocated, how trying to apply ethics can create conflict (not wars; more an inner conflict!) and considering if doing good really is all that good.
So, join us on 24 June for consideration of the “Trolley problem” and some contemplation on whether we really do want to do the right thing.
As ever, some of us will be dining in the Exchange ahead of the talk at 6PM
