My Favourite Cake

We are pleased to announce that on Tuesday 15th July our next film is “My Favourite Cake”. It is a beautiful, gently comic, bittersweet Iranian film that features the glorious Lily Farhadpour as Mahin, who after 30 years as a widow in Teheran, decides to take a risk and revive her love life. A chance encounter with a taxi driver, Faramarz, turns into an unforgettable evening, in more ways than one...

My Favourite Cake is funny and touching, but also unexpectedly thought-provoking: what it has to say about women's lives, and how society treats older people, goes well beyond life in Iran. Ticket price includes wine or soft drink. Doors open 7pm, film shows from 7.30pm.

The link at the end of this post will take you directly to the film booking page on our website. When you book via the website or in advance at our box office, you will be sent a receipt which serves as your 'ticket'. When you attend the film, show your receipt - either as a printout, or on a mobile device.

Alternatively, you can purchase a ticket from the Iffley Village Community Shop (cash only). Please note that after 5pm on the day of the showing, you will only be able to buy a ticket on the door.

For those not familiar with our film schedule please note that there is no film in August.
