As semiconductors continue to drive technology disruption, understanding VLSI (Very Large Scale Integration) design and the latest technologies is paramount for the next generation of engineers and innovators. Semiconductor technology continues to change the world and in order to be successful in this dynamic field, engineers need both technical depth and knowledge. In order to bridge the gap between academic learning and industrial innovation, the IEEE NSU Student Branch in collaboration with IEEE NSU Power & Energy Society Student Branch Chapter and NSU ACM Student Chapter is organizing an event titled “Overview of Semiconductor design & manufacturing processes” to empower students and young professionals with practical knowledge and career inspiration in the field of VLSI and semiconductor engineering. For this event we are pleased to have Monzur Hossain, an accomplished engineering lead at Intel Corporation, USA, with over 20 years of experience in the semiconductor industry. With an extensive VLSI design, development, and verification background, Monzur has vast experience in digital structural and physical design methodologies, EDA tool flows, and next-type of CPU innovation.
This session presents a unique opportunity to get an understanding of the real-world obstacles and accomplishments in semiconductor design, including Intel’s latest technology leap, the 18A-technology. Participants will also be exposed to the key roles of process-architecture co-optimization (PPA), automation in design flows, and how emerging technologies will shape the future of chip design.
This event will be advantageous to students, academics and industry professionals to provide a transition from learning in a classroom to practical industrial practice. If you want to pursue a career in VLSI, are interested in CPU architecture, or are simply curious about what the future holds in semiconductor engineering, you will walk away from this event feeling enlightened and inspired.
