Enjoy futuristic synth-pop music under the atmosphere of space in the UTA Planetarium dome.

The Helium Queens includes keyboardist Poppy Xander, drummer Chelsey Danielle and electric violinist Sharla Franklin who refer to themselves as “Earthling Voices”. They began making music as a space pop trio, since then, but just like space, this group has evolved into so much more.

What exactly is the Helium Queens? Helium Queens is a futuristic, sci-fi, electronica band that is part performance art and was originally the brainchild of singer, keyboardist, and composer Poppy Xander. Xander (who plays in multiple bands, including The Polyphonic Spree and PriMadonna) teamed up with fellow musicians Sharla Franklin (King George, The Fiddle Rascals) and Chelsey Danielle (Pearl Earl, No Good Babies) in 2017 to bring the idea to life.

Dressed in neon, glowing outfits, Xander performs as Piscea Xandaria, Franklin as Starre Lux Nectaris, and Danielle as Venoo Andromeda. The trio has crafted a whole universe (or YOUniverse as they call it) and invite you to experience the immersive, spectacular, world of the Helium Queens at the UTA Planetarium where we bring outer space to you.
