Matariki Heri Kai comes from the Māori proverb ‘Matariki whetū heri kai’ meaning...
Matariki - a time to gather with whānau and friends to share a meal (kai), song (waiata), games (tākaroa) and haka.

The Ngā Kaitiaki o Ngāti Kauwhata gazebo will be the central hub for Matariki activities on the Green Quadrant with giveaways - decorate shortbread stars, Tukutuku Panels and moko stencils.

As always, Feilding Farmers Market's fabulous stall holders will be ready to greet you with their fresh and artisan produce at the Matariki Market.
