Whitstable Railway 200 History Talk by Southeastern Railway employee and local railway historian, Mark Jones.
A fascinating looking at the history and development of our railways, from the industrial north to the Canterbury & Whitstable Railway, the world's first seam hauled passenger railway, with a feature on the construction of the Whitstable stations on the Kent Coast main line. The evening will include a special song and music video about the opening of the Canterbury & Whitstable Railway.
Supported by his employer Southeastern, Mark has has served the local community 40 years, and studied local railway for past ten years.
The talk will start at 7pm.
