Troldsalen, an intimate concert hall seating 189 guests, is specially designed to deliver an exceptional chamber music experience. From the stage, you can gaze through the iconic window at Grieg’s little composer’s hut – the birthplace of so many legendary pieces.

Julius von Forstner
Julius von Forstner, bass-baritone and pianist, born 2001 in Northern Germany, has been studying piano with Prof. Kalle Randalu since 2019 and classical singing with Prof. Holger Speck at the Karlsruhe University of Music since 2023. After completing his bachelor's degree in piano with distinction, he began his master's degree in Oslo with Prof. Håvard Gimse while continuing his vocal studies there with Prof. Anne-Lise Sollied and Prof. Carlo Allemano.
The combination of singing and piano studies offers him ideally complementary skills that greatly enrich him as a broad-based and very sensitive musician.
As a singer he has already a broad repertoire including numerous Lieder, oratorium and opera arias. In addition to participating in many projects, he can also look back on numerous prizes and awards, such as at the national Jugend musiziert competition. In 2023, he released his first CD album with piano works by Bach and Brahms. After graduating with his master degree in piano in 2025 he will continue his singing education at the Opera Academy in Oslo.
