Doors open 6:15 pm
for potluck and socializing
Program begins at 7:00 pm
Marina Library Community Room
190 Seaside Circle, Marina
Speaker Chris Thomas will share her knowledge and positive attitude on growing orchids suitable for the Central Coast. Irene Patton of the Carmel Orchid Society will display some stunning orchids that are easy to care for.
Chris Thomas is a writer and editor who’s been growing orchids as a hobbyist for more than 20 years – in Boise, Seattle and now in Central California – and still considers herself a novice. Chris remembers how hard it was to even pronounce some of the plant names (like…Coelogyne), let alone figure out how to take care of them. Her presentation – “You Can Do This!” – is a lively look at the basics of orchid parenthood, how to keep ‘em alive and even get them to rebloom.
Please bring a tasty dish to share. Whether your food is homemade or store-bought—savory or sweet—it will all be appreciated. Also, please identify the main ingredients in your dish for those with special dietary requirements. You may want to bring your own non-alcoholic drink and reusable dishware, so that we have a zero-waste event.
Our quarterly General Meetings are open to the public, so bring a friend!
