We will meet at Station Road Car Park in Exeter at 11.00 am. We will go over any questions and some foraging guidelines, ensuring everyone is ready for our adventure before we set off on our journey into the great outdoors.
During our outing, you will have the unique chance to immerse yourself in the art of foraging for food directly from nature. This experience will be characterised by a mindful and immersive approach, allowing you to engage with the environment at a slow and deliberate pace. As we stroll through the natural landscape, you will learn about the various edible plants, herbs, and flowers that can be found in our surroundings. Participants will have the opportunity to pick fresh salad greens, harvest aromatic herbs, and gather vibrant flowers suitable for making delightful teas and infusions. Along the way, we will share creative recipe ideas that incorporate these wild-harvested ingredients, helping you to expand your culinary repertoire and deepen your connection to the natural world.
To ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience, it is important to wear sensible shoes that are suitable for walking on uneven terrain. Additionally, please bring along any personal items you may need for your comfort, such as water bottles to stay hydrated, sunscreen to protect your skin from the sun's rays/wet weather gear, and nutritious snack bars to keep your energy levels up during our exploration. It is highly recommended to bring a container or basket to collect your wild-harvested goodies, allowing you to transport your findings safely and conveniently as we gather nature's bounty.
