Dirty Champagne | Music in the Junction

This seven-piece chamber orchestra playing its own blend of brass country rock was formed in 2017 in Des Moines, Iowa. Fronted by dual lead singers Andria Sullivan and Angela Bohnenkamp, and joined by brass, harmonies, and a power rhythm section, Ryan Weis and Justin Sullivan, the band found a common desire to return harmonies and dirty guitars to music once called heartland rock. The evolution continued to nineties rock and horn ska. Drummer Brian Burnham later joined the fold bringing precision like rhythm only a metronome can provide, but with swing and feel necessary of the music he serves. Kristin Sullivan (keyboards, fiddle, vocals) and James Campisano (trombone, vocals) completed the now perfect line up of a self-described super group. They have been compared to Three Dog Night, but with chicks, The Marshall Tucker Band, and Fleetwood Mac that rocks harder…and with a couple that is still married. Dirty Champagne and its members have played cities and towns all over the state of Iowa including your favorite bars and roadhouses in towns without stop lights. Regardless of the venue even casual music listeners appreciate four-part harmonies combined with loud guitars. This band is no stranger to winning over suspicious audiences and gathering back handed compliments that only Midwesterners can provide. Dirty Champagne is known for its marathon shows including tributes to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Fleetwood Mac, No Doubt, and essentially any other good band from the last fifty years.
