Auditions for The Laramie Project

In 1998, Matthew Shepard, a gay college student, was brutally attacked and killed in the small town of Laramie, Wyoming. In the weeks that followed, his story captured national attention. The Laramie Project is a powerful play composed entirely of real interviews conducted with the people of Laramie. It not only recounts the tragic events surrounding Matthew’s death, but also offers a revealing portrait of the town and its residents in the year that followed. This is an ensemble production in which each actor plays multiple roles. While some parts may have more lines than others, every role is essential to the storytelling. Those interested in auditioning are strongly encouraged to read the play in advance and become familiar with its themes and structure.
