RevoluSon

RevoluSon is a group of exceptional musicians united by love and passion for Cuban music and work towards elevating the culture, promoting social change and artistic freedom. The group was formed in 2017 as a nomadic musical duo that performed in the streets of magical towns, beaches and tourist cities in Mexico. Founding members Adrian Espin and León Mendez’ shared amazement for Cuban music led them to collaborate with many different local musicians united by a love and passion for Cuban music and it’s ability to make audiences sing, dance and enjoy. The group eventually arrived in Guanajuato, home of one of the most important cultural festivals in the world, here they met local musician Luis Ramírez. Luis was the key piece they had been missing, he joined the band in 2019 elevating the group with his experience and musicianship as a bassist and vocalist.

The repertoire in the Cuban son genre includes other styles such as the son montuno, the guajira, the guaracha, the Santiago trova, the bolero, the chachachá, the bolero chá and the afro-son. It should be noted that salsa is a fusion of the same Cuban son with other elements of Afro-American music, so the band also interprets many classic songs of this genre in their own Sonero style.
