Culture House Sunderland is delighted to welcome back best-selling author Glenda Young for an afternoon talk about her newly released book, Secrets of the Toffee Factory Girls, the second instalment in the Toffee Factory Girls series. The series is inspired by Horner's Toffee Factory and Dainty Dinah Toffee of Chester-le-Street in County Durham and is set during World War I.
Glenda Young is the author of eight hugely popular family sagas novels set in Ryhope in 1919 and a series of cosy crime novels set in modern-day Scarborough. She has also written TV tie-in books for ITVβs Coronation Street and is an award-winning short story writer. Glenda also has a unique claim to fame, she's the writer of Riverside, a weekly soap opera published in The People's Friend magazine since 2016.
