Join Heavitree Local History Society for a short stroll along part of the Northbrook river and learn about points of interest between Polsloe Bridge and Heavitree Bridge.
Along the way we will explore the history of Polsloe Bridge station, a Second World War decontamination centre, the Hamlin Lane playing fields and local housing schemes. We will follow the course of the Northbrook - ‘Heavitree’s river' - including the place where its tributaries, the Mincinglake Stream and Whipton Brook, join together and flow to Heavitree Bridge.
Meet at 4pm on Saturday 12 July by Polsloe Bridge Station. The walk will last around an hour and take place on firm surfaces.
All are welcome – this is a free event.
