**We are taking our practice to the beach for the summer! Early morning Tai Chi for Recovery at Durand Eastman Beach. We will meet at the parking lot D on Lakeshore Blvd, at the bottom of Log Cabin Road and walk out onto the beach together to practice mindful, meditative movement with the sunrise and the sound of the waves hitting the shoreline.**

Tai chi is an ancient Chinese martial art. Initially developed for combat and self-defense, it has evolved into a sport and form of exercise. Tai chi is a gentle, low-impact form of exercise in which practitioners perform a series of deliberate, flowing motions while focusing on deep, slow breaths. Often referred to as "meditation in motion," tai chi aims to concentrate and balance the body's qi (vital energy), providing benefits to mental and physical health

Tai Chi for Recovery (TCR) is a set of practical exercises used to regulate emotions naturally. TCR is an adaptation of the ancient evidence-based stress reduction techniques of Tai Chi & Qi Gong.

The form is choreographed to The Serenity Prayer with breath work, gentle stretching, mindfulness, and movement paired with familiar recovery concepts to cultivate serenity, acceptance, courage, and wisdom.

This event is for individuals who are 18 years or older.

All our classes and events are free and open to anyone with at least 48-hours of continuous sobriety. First time participants, please fill out a membership questionnaire here: www.rocoveryfitness.org/membership.html
