BHS Ride Safe Training For All - Including Silver or Bronze Awards

Come and join a day of training to keep you safer on the roads. This training will conclude with testing for the BHS Silver Challenge Award or Bronze Award and is for adults and children over 8 years old.

NOTE: The Silver Award is for Riders minimum age 12.
The Bronze award will be given to riders who are successful under the age of 12 or for older riders who are not yet confident or competent on the road in handling their horse or pony.

The day will help give you the skills and understanding to keep you safe when riding on the roads, in open spaces and in busy warm-up arenas.

The BHS Ride Safe Silver Award is a compulsory module at Stage 1 level and must be completed before progressing to the BHS Stage 2 Ride. It is also a requirement for Pony Club activities and assessments.

The Ride Safe Silver Challenge Award replaces the BHS Ride and Road Safety Test.
You no longer have to be a BHS member - it's available for everyone.

BHS Accredited Professional Coaches on the day are:

Senara Caddy - BHS Ride Safe Trainer & Advisor / BHS Senior Coach / BEF UKCC Level 4 Coach / MSc in Sports Coaching

Natalie Levens - BHS Ride Safe Trainer / BHS Level 3 Coach

You will need to bring your own horse or pony, or if you do not have your own horse or pony, you can apply to hire one from Horse Riding Cornwall. However, this will be limited, and Horse Riding Cornwall hire costs and policies apply. Please contact them directly.

More and more Riding schools, livery yards and trekking centres are stipulating that riders must hold the BHS Ride Safe Award if they want to ride out. The award covers riding in different environments, not just on the roads.
If you want to make sure you are doing the right thing or if you think you might like to follow the BHS Career Pathway this award is essential.
