This workshop is for absolute beginners. On the first day you will learn about tie dye using cold water dyes; how to create different patterns in the fabric using knotting, tying, pleating and stitching. You will have the chance to practice on sample fabric before embarking on your own organic cotton scarf.
For the second day, your tie dyed scarf will be washed and pressed ready for the next step. This part of the workshop is all about silkscreen printing on fabric, you will learn about which screens and inks are suitable for fabric and how to use metalic foils using the tutorβs patterned screens, you will print on your sample fabrics to try out the technique, before printing your scarf ready to take home at the end of the day.
