One of the founders of bebop, Dizzy Gillespie was a fantastic musician with a wonderful personality. It is by keeping these values front and centre that the Dizzy Gillespie Big Band continues the tradition started by the legendary trumpet-playing songwriter and band leader. Artistic integrity and high-quality performance are guaranteed by Gillespie’s former musical collaborator and the artistic director, producer and bass guitarist of the band, John Lee.
