Rare Prints:
Madam Satan on 35mm
All Three Screenings Introduced by Rob Patrick, Olympia Film Society’s Director of Programming

Kay Johnson plays a socialite who masquerades as the devil during a costume party aboard a doomed zeppelin. Despite being one of the wildest films of all-time, this curio has fewer than 2.3K logs on Letterboxd. After three years of searching, we finally found a print!
Dir: Cecil B. DeMille / 1930 / US / 116 min

“Lunacy.” – Pauline Kael, New Yorker

“Lillian Roth jumped through more than five panes of candy glass during the shoot. In the busy background, among the enormous feathers and shimmering costumes, you may find an uncredited Ann Dvorak. Forever lost in the merriment. One of the most bewildering films ever made. A bizarre production that bemused and flummoxed audiences and critics alike.” – Rob Patrick, Olympia Film Society’s Director of Programming

SCREENING: THU 7/10 7PM; SAT 7/12 7PM; SUN 7/13 4PM

$13 GA & $10 OFS. Tickets are available at the box office 30 minutes before showtimes.
