A cinematic, post-rock outfit that is 20 years in the making. Born in the mouth of the Columbia River Gorge, Live Island is a grunge era influenced, jazz inspired five piece. For one night only they will be joined by a 9 piece horn ensemble, a collection of Portlands finest. A fusion of symphony with the raw talent of the garage musician, with influences from Duke Ellington to Deftones and Tool. The band explores a message of caring for the Earth, our island in the galactic ocean.
This event will be supported by DJs from Portland’s own jazz radio KMHD including Steven Vaughn Kray and the legendary DJ BMT, as well as former DJ of The Deep Dig and owner of DIG Vinyl, Scott Thayer. Closing the night we will have a final DJ set by KBOO host of The Message and industry leader, NorthernDraw.
