Elliot Ross is a Portland-based guitarist, composer, and producer who crafts immersive solo performances steeped in jazz tradition and modern experimentation. His debut album Glimpse of Future was praised by Eleven PDX for its “fantastically fluid and intertwined” guitar work and evocative compositions that “float in murky waters... providing your own narrative to the ghostly story.” (source)
Drawing comparisons to Bill Frisell and the Blue Note-era innovators, Ross combines extended harmonies, ambient textures, and layered looping into deeply expressive solo sets. Audiences in Portland, Chicago and NYC have experienced his cinematic approach to guitar, where a single melody might evolve into a lush soundscape or a tense, emotional arc.
With a background in both improvised music and electronic production, Ross performs under his own name and alias, Moongriffin. Whether on stage or in the studio, he delivers narrative-rich, genre-blurring music that resonates well beyond the jazz idiom.
