Napa Valley Wine Dinner with Trespass Vineyard

Trespass Vineyard wines are the result of a dedicated collaboration between Dana and Don Gallagher, winemaker Kirk Venge and one small vineyard located in the heart of St. Helena. With only four acres divided between Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot, the vineyard is a true labor of love with virtually every aspect of vineyard management and winemaking being done by hand. This dedication has allowed the team to craft wines that reflect the unique character and intensity of the terrior.
Their first vintage was in 2000 with only a very small amount of wine produced from the estate. Their vineyard has seven individual blocks planted to five different rootstocks which match the soil types found on the property. The Cabernet comprises three of these blocks and approximately 65% of the vines. They have three blocks of Cabernet Franc and one of Merlot and they make up 25% and 10% of the total vineyard respectively.
Don Gallagher was raised in the Napa Valley, with Dana moving to St. Helena in the early 80’s. When the chance came to create their dream on this special piece of land, the Gallagher’s never looked back. Don’s focus now is managing the vineyards and sales while Dana oversees the business aspects of Trespass. For Don and Dana, working together at such a wonderful endeavor is as good as it gets! You will often find them wandering around the property talking and dreaming about their next adventure, be it with the winery or elsewhere.
