Join us for the fourth and final event in our first Social Connections Learning Series!

About this Event

Social isolation is a public health crisis! In fact, loneliness and isolation increase the risk for individuals to develop mental health challenges in their lives, and lacking connection can increase the risk for premature death to levels comparable to smoking daily. So, what can we do about it?

Join us at the Spokane Valley Library as we discuss the importance of the fourth building block of the Healthy Outcomes from Positive Experiences (HOPE) framework—Emotional Growth—as a way to strengthen resilience in parents/caregivers and children between the ages of 0-5. We will use the HOPE framework to highlight local examples and share opportunities to further promote emotional growth. As part of the event, participants will also hear from presenters, partake in conversation, and engage in meaningful activities that contribute to their understanding of the importance of emotional growth.

This event is organized by the Spokane Regional Health District, Akin, EWU School of Social Work and Launch NW. Social workers who attend the event will receive continuing education credits by Eastern Washington University School of Social Work. Lunch will be provided.
