Earthquakes and volcanoes and floods, oh my! Bellevue is susceptible to many different hazards, and it can be easy to feel overwhelmed by the constant news of disasters around the globe. Fortunately, there are a lot of simple steps that you and your loved ones can take now, to be better prepared if and when disaster strikes.
Join Bellevue Fire's Office of Emergency Management to learn critical preparedness skills to become disaster ready. Preparing for emergencies can feel intimidating, but it can be a breeze with the proper tools! This training will help equip residents with the skills and information they need to be prepared, by providing quick lessons on:
- L ocal Hazards: What hazards pose a threat in Bellevue?
- F ire Safety: How do you prevent a fire from starting? What do you do if there is a fire in your own home?
- Home Safety: How do you find hazards in your home? What steps can you take now, to keep your home and family safe?
- Basic First Aid: What first aid supplies should you have on hand? What are simple steps you can do if you or a loved one are injured?
- Personal Preparedness: Where do you start when building your family’s emergency plan? What resources do you need to have on hand if a disaster occurs?

Info: What hazards are we subject to in the city of Bellevue? What steps can you take to help protect yourself and your family if a disaster strikes? In this 25-minute session we'll discuss the impact of different hazards and how to recognize those that may impact you personally here in Bellevue.

Info: How do you find hazards in your home? Where do you start when building your family’s emergency plan? In this 25-minute session, we’ll walk you through how to mitigate common household items by securing, relocating, or eliminating them, and the steps you need to take to be prepared should a disaster occur.

Fire Safety
Info: What steps can you take to prevent a fire from ever occurring? What do you do if there is a fire in your own home? Learn what to do before, during, and after a fire in this 25-minute session.

Live Fire Training
Info: When should you use a fire extinguisher? How do you use a fire extinguisher? In this 25-minute session you will get the chance to put out a live, controlled fire with a Co2 fire extinguisher.
