About this Event

Literary Sounds: Randall Horton and Radical Reversal

Join the Center for Art and Advocacy for a special poetry infused musical performance by Right of Return Fellow, Randall Horton and his band Radical Reversal. Explore themes of transformation and liberation as Horton shares excerpts of his personal written works through poetry readings and musical contemplations. Radical Reversal aims to create a kind of sonic literature – a collection of intricate soundscapes and lyrical language. Their vision is to craft music that resonates deeply, provokes contemplation, and invites the listener to engage with sound in a radical, transformative way.

Members of the band include Amma Islam (vocals), Brendan Regan (guitar), Devin Waldman (synth/keys), Melanie Dyer (viola), Warren Trae Crudup (drums).

Randall Horton is a writer, poet, artist, and Professor of English at the University of New Haven creating poetry, nonfiction, and music that encapsulates the power of storytelling in the movement to end mass incarceration. The Center is dedicated to empowering justice-impacted artists working in various creative disciplines through funded fellowships, mentorship, advocacy and creative opportunities. This program is free and open to the public. The Center is located at 22 Bancroft Place, Brooklyn, NY 11233.
