This is an abridged version of my multi-segment course on Long Exposure Photography. The concept will be to guide you through camera settings, using filters for best results, and composition, in the field.

Our meeting time allows for some daylight, golden hour into sunset. Sunset is around 8:30 PM.
Who Should Attend: Photographers of all skill levels who want to explore the artistic potential of long exposure techniques. Note: attendees should have a solid understanding of manual control of their cameras.
Required Gear:
- A camera capable of bulb mode
- Wide-angle lens, generally something between 20mm - 35mm is a good start, longer lenses can also be interesting.
- Tripod
- Neutral Density filters, at a minimum starting point of 10-stops, ideally 13-15 stops of ND is recommended. If you do not already own these kinds of filters, let me know (aW5mbyB8IGthdGVoYWlsZXkgISBjb20=) and I can provide a list of options to purcase in advance of the course. You must have filters like this to create this kind of work.

Kate was born into a life of art, with her mother being a painter, and father a musician and photographer. These influences shaped her path as a visual storyteller, with a keen eye for emotion, light, and connection.
Kate is on the faculty at Photographic Center Northwest, leading workshops in lighting, travel photography, and beyond. While always including technical aspects, her goals are always to inspire creativity and artistic exploration.
