About this Event

Join us for a joyful, affirming evening of community and connection at Splash of Pride, a private pool night dedicated to the 2SLGBTQIA+ community! This FREE (13+ year old) event is made possible through a partnership between Pride Across the Bridge and the City of Kirkland’s DEIB Office, we are very grateful for their support! :)
Pride Across the Bridge works hard to provide inclusive and affirming spaces for our 2SLGBTQIA+ community to come together, celebrate their identities, and enjoy the camaraderie and joys of swimming, that may be taken for granted by many in our community. We know the hurdles many in our trans, nonbinary, and queer communities face, and whether it's body dysphoria, or self-conscious body image keeping you from the water, join your community who understands and live out your aquatic dream! We offer a supportive environment where everyone can feel welcomed and respected, regardless of their gender identity or expression. Our events are designed to foster a sense of community, belonging, and joy, allowing participants to connect with like-minded individuals, share experiences, and build lasting friendships. :)
We are a all-volunteer organization committed to promoting the well-being and visibility of the trans and nonbinary community through engaging and accessible events. Our team is comprised of passionate individuals dedicated to creating positive change and celebrating diversity. Whether you're a seasoned swimmer or dipping your toes in the water for the first time, Pride Across the Bridge welcomes you to join us in making waves and embracing the beauty of our shared journey.

There are locker rooms that the city is allowing us to make gender-neutral, each with ADA accessible showers and bathrooms.Free snacks and drinks will be provided at the event. We’ll have chairs and tables on the upper deck for relaxation, connection, and refreshments. Personal floaties (like inner tubes) are welcome, and pool equipment such as kickboards, noodles, and aquajoggers will be available.

Finances~
Being a volunteer run org, we strive to remove barriers for our community to get the care and connection we know they deserve (yes we're talking about you)! Thanks to the City of Kirkland's sponsorship, access to this event is free! We just need RSVPs from interested attendees. :)
Finances should never be the barrier between you and connecting with your community- especially when it comes to something as fun as water! We are so grateful for our partnership with the City of Kirkland for this opportunity! Hit us up with any questions at aW5mbyB8IHByaWRlYWNyb3NzdGhlYnJpZGdlICEgb3Jn. We got you. :)
Guidelines and Safety~
In our swim meetups, inclusivity and respect are paramount. We operate under a zero-tolerance policy for discrimination, harassment, or hate speech based on gender identity, sexual orientation, race, or any other discrimination against your human beings. We ask all participants to respect each other's pronouns and to contribute to a positive and supportive atmosphere. Privacy and personal boundaries are to be respected at all times.
No personal photography will be allowed to maintain a safe environment for everyone's comfort. There may be opportunities for photos taken at a explicitly stated time near the beginning of our gathering by a pool staff-member.
For the safety of all attendees and to honor the limitations of our venue, this is a 13+ year old and above event. Lifeguards will be on duty to assist with any emergencies, and adherence to pool rules and guidelines is mandatory. We encourage community engagement and invite everyone to stay informed about our events, announcements, and community news by signing up for our newsletter on our website or following us on social media @prideacrossthebridge. We strive to make our events accessible to all, and accommodations can be arranged upon request.
Anyone appearing to struggle in deeper water will be asked to complete a swim test, regardless of age, to ensure safety. Diving is limited to one or two people in the diving well at a time. No large inflatables or squirt-gun-style toys are permitted.
