Seit ihrer Gründung in Brisbane haben sich The Amity Affliction zu einer der prägendsten Bands des internationalen Metalcore entwickelt. Ihre Musik ist gezeichnet von zutiefst persönlichen Texten, die Themen wie Verlust, mentale Gesundheit, Trauer und Hoffnung schonungslos thematisieren. Auch die späteren Veröffentlichungen wie Let The Ocean Take Me, Everyone Loves You…Once You Leave Them und zuletzt Not Without My Ghosts festigten ihren Status als eine der wichtigsten Stimmen ihres Genres.
