Movement Lab is a curated series of sessions that include Gaga/people and other contemporary dance practices by a pool of experienced teachers in the realm of movement research, improvisation, and somatics. Each week a different movement practitioner shares their approach to movement and dancing, emphasising playfulness, exploration and curiosity while strengthening awareness of the body-mind relationship.

Expect each session to connect you with your body, the joy of moving and to expand the range of your physical abilities.

Lois Alexander is a Berlin based choreographer and performer working across multiple disciplines. Her dance practice explores ways of re-mapping the body through movement, drawing on diasporic memory and embodied research. She often works with natural materials to explore relationships between the body and its environment. Her choreographic debut, Neptune, premiered at Tanztage Berlin and Dansmakers Amsterdam in 2020 and was selected for Aerowaves Twenty21. She later created Yeye, co-produced by Sophiensaele Berlin, and the solo, Eventually Causing the Shake for Ballhaus Naunynstraße. Lois is a certified Pilates teacher and incorporates a nervous system attuned approach to all of her somatic work. Lois holds a BFA in Dance from The Juilliard School.
