- **Event Description**: CC Zoetegem proudly presents: The Spirit of Talk Talk. Deze muzikale hommage aan de iconische band Talk Talk speelt slechts op zes plaatsen in Vlaanderen, mis deze kans dus voor geen goud!


Talk Talk brak begin jaren ’80 door met melancholische popsongs als ‘It’s My Life’, ‘Such a Shame’ en ‘Life’s What You Make It’. Eerst vergeleken met New Romantic-bands als Duran Duran, sloegen ze al snel een eigen weg in. In 1987 werkten Mark Hollis en producer Tim Friese-Greene maandenlang in duisternis aan ‘Spirit of Eden’ (1988), een revolutionair album waarin jazz, ambient en impressionistische klanken samenvloeiden. Eerst onbegrepen, groeide het uit tot een visionair meesterwerk en voorloper van post-rock. Na het nog experimentelere ‘Laughing Stock’ (1991) verdween Talk Talk. Bands als Radiohead en Sigur Rós erkenden later hun invloed.


In ‘The Spirit Of Talk Talk’ werkt David Poltrock samen met een aantal fans van ‘Spirit of Eden’ om dit iconische album weer tot leven te wekken. Stefanie Callebaut, Lennert Coorevits, Ruben Block, Isolde Lasoen, Ewen Vernal, Geoffrey Burton, Joachim Badenhorst en Poltrock spelen ‘Spirit of Eden’ integraal en vullen de set uiteraard aan met classics uit het indrukwekkende repertoire van zowel Mark Hollis als Talk Talk.

Een initiatief van David Poltrock en 30CC in coproductie met CCHA, de Warande, Ha’Concerts, CC Brugge en CC Zoetegem met steun van Hnita Jazz Club.
