On 19th March – a Maltese public holiday – participants will have the rare opportunity to explore one of Malta’s most remarkable baroque churches through an in-depth guided tour that celebrates our island’s rich religious heritage. The tour will begin at 9:00am on the church parvis, setting the stage for a journey through centuries of faith, artistry, and architectural excellence.
Led by respected artist and restorer Anthony Spagnol together with architect Ruben Abela, this immersive visit goes far beyond a standard walkthrough. Participants will gain expert insight into the sacred art, intricate architectural details, devotional statues, and ornamental treasures that adorn the church.

The experience will include:
• The Parish Church and its impressive interior
• The historic crypt beneath the church
• The Oratory of the Blessed Sacrament and its crypt
• The parish’s Art and History Museum, home to valuable liturgical objects and historical artefacts

This tour is designed not only to inform, but to deepen appreciation of Malta’s living religious and artistic traditions. It offers a meaningful opportunity for cultural guides to enrich their knowledge, for expatriates to connect more deeply with local heritage, and for visitors to experience Żejtun beyond the usual tourist routes.

Participation is free for members of Wirt iż-Żejtun. Non-members are welcome to join for a contribution of €10.
