The Wacken Metal Battle – Malta 2026 is the Maltese national edition of the prestigious international Wacken Metal Battle, established in 2004 by Wacken Open Air, the world’s largest and most renowned Metal festival.
In 2025, Malta proudly joined the international network for the first time. The Maltese band MORSROT became the first-ever Maltese act to perform at Wacken Open Air, taking the stage at the W.E.T. Stage (Bullhead City).
Building on this success, the Wacken Metal Battle – Malta 2026 will feature Maltese Metal bands, judged live by international Metal industry professionals and an official Wacken Open Air representative.
The winner will earn the honour to represent Malta at Wacken Open Air 2026.
