A unique, challenging hill race, starting in a beautiful countryside location in Bingemma climbing a total of 146m to one of the highest points on the island (236m) over a distance of 5.6km for a sunset finish at Kuncizzjoni chapel in Rabat.

Malta does not have mountains but there are some steep inclines & beautiful countryside! Are you up for the challenge?

Organised by the Malta Mountain Running Sub-Committee under the auspices of the Athletics Malta and sponsored by Garmin Malta.

This is a Selection Race for the European Off-Road Running Championships 2026 (Kamnik, Slovenia 5-7/06/26)

The National champions who run sub <19’59( Men) and sub 23’59”(Women) will be guaranteed Team Selection!

Another selection race, which will be taken in consideration Gozo Xterra 50km trail race (09.05.26). Those placing first Maltese and who will register a time:
Male runners (sub <4hr19’59”) and Female runners (sub 4hr 49’59”6 will be considered for selection, as long as they place well in The National Championship in Bingemma)

Race will be chip-timed and results will be available instantly at the finish line (Kuncizzjoni chapel).

The race is OPEN to anyone who would like to participate, from elite runner, to newcomers. Only Maltese nationals will be eligible to national title awards/prizes including age categories as well as selection for European Off-Road Running Championships.
