PAWS of Muskingum County and the Muskingum County Humane Society are teaming up to collect donations to build insulated outdoor shelters for homeless cats living outside this winter. These shelters will be given to community members who are already caring for outdoor cats but may not have the resources to provide proper shelter on their own.

Cat overpopulation remains a major issue in our county. Shelters and rescues are full, and while we continue working to find homes, not every cat has one. These outdoor shelters are an important way to help protect cats who have nowhere else to go during the cold months.

We’re asking for donations of materials to help us build these shelters:
• Styrofoam coolers
• Large storage totes
• 1-inch 4x8 sheets of insulation
• Straw
• Duct tape

Zanesville PetSmart Parking Lot

As a thank-you, all donors will receive a 25% off drink coupon for The Chatty Cat Cafe! 

Once shelters are assembled, we’ll share dates and times for community pickup. If you can’t donate supplies, sharing this post helps just as much.

If you’d like to help but are unable to drop off supplies, here are other ways to contribute! We will use donation money to buy supplies https://www.pawsofmuskingum.org/donate 

And as always, please spay and neuter. It is the only way to reduce the number of cats living outdoors.
