About the event

Yoga Retreat
This is your invitation to slow down, breathe, and listen. A sacred pause and reset.

Have you ever left a yoga class wanting to stay longer in the energy of the space? Are you curious about practices rooted in intention, connection, and integration—such as yoga, ceremonial cacao, meditation, journaling, oracle cards, sharing circles, astrology?

If so, you’re invited to join Aubrey at The Mix for its first-ever Yoga Retreat—an immersive experience designed to help you slow down, tune inward, and reconnect with yourself. This retreat offers a sacred pause from daily life, creating space for self-love, self-awareness, and intuitive exploration in a safe, supportive container.

This gathering is rooted in confidentiality, integrity, and authenticity. Participants are asked to honor the vulnerability shared within the space, allowing open minds and open hearts to guide the experience.

What to Expect
Upon arrival each guest will be welcomed into the studio with a sage smudging to cleanse and set intention. The retreat begins as a traditional yoga setup, followed by a 60-minute slow flow/Hatha-style class with an extended savasana to really surrender into the energy of the practice.

After yoga, participants will gather altar items and form a circle to collectively build an altar while ceremonial cacao is prepared. Aubrey will guide the cacao ceremony, share its meaning, and offer an oracle card pull to set intention. For 30–40 minutes, guests may sit, move, meditate, or journal while immersed in music and reflection.

The experience concludes with a sharing circle (optional participation), honoring confidentiality and compassionate listening, followed by group toning to close the container. Guests will then retrieve their altar items, receive a small parting gift, and depart with space for integration.

We’ll provide:
Yoga mat
Blocks
Blankets
Bolsters
Candles
Ceremonial cacao

Please Bring:
A journal and a writing utensil
A mug for cacao
Altar items (flowers, photographs of ancestors, crystals, talismans, anything you would like to help charge up the energy of the altar as well as anything you want to be honored by the group).
A water bottle
Layers of clothes

A disclaimer about Cacao:
Cacao is chocolate in its most unadulterated state. The seeds (commonly referred to as beans) are separated from the fruit of the cacao pod. Then, the seeds are sun-dried as opposed to roasted. This process preserves its nutritional properties as opposed to cooking them out. It is then brewed into a drink by the ceremony facilitator, often accompanied by cinnamon, cayenne, cardamom, rose petals, and a sweetener like honey or maple syrup. Each facilitator has their own recipe they like to brew.
Cacao is NOT psychedelic meaning it is NON-HALLUCINOGENIC though it does have consciousness-altering properties. It has the capability to shift the nervous system toward connection, with a common nickname of being a ‘heart-opener.’ Its medicine is said to be subtle, cumulative, and relational.
When ceremonial cacao is consumed, the body responds on a chemical level. The body in turn, produces serotonin (the happy hormone), dopamine (the pleasure hormone), endorphins (nature’s Morph*ne), oxytocin (the love hormone), and anadamide (the bliss molecule).
Cacao has its own level of caffeine, but unlike harsh stimulants like coffee, cacao has been found to gently energize the body and mind (without crashing), and nourish and support the nervous system as opposed to overwhelming it.
The cacao being served during this retreat hails from a small family farm in Costa Rica. Aubrey’s connection to this cacao is through a friend whom she and her family travel to the land and spend time with the farmers and the plants and bring back the cacao themselves to then share here in the United States, mainly Michigan. Aubrey has sat in 30+ ceremonies with this specific cacao, mainly those hosted by Lindsey herself, and has cultivated a deep relationship with the plant and its medicine over the past 7 years.
