Open Mic Poetry Night!

Join BLB and Host Tara Hardy for our monthly Open Mic Poetry Night! This is a FREE event on the second floor of our beautiful historic building!* we do not have an elevator*
This month we have Featured poet Jeremy Peters! Jeremy writes poetry in order to say things that are too impolitic or impolite for Sunday morning. His playful and lyrical poetry satirizes the mighty and celebrates the ordinary. Jeremy is especially interested in exploring the intersection between the sacred and profane - in other words, his work appeals to people with a spiritual side who don’t mind a little cussin’. Jeremy has been invited to share his poetry at churches, synagogues, bars, and bookstores throughout southeast Michigan; he currently serves as the pastor of Court Street United Methodist Church in downtown Flint.
