The Great War Remembered Concert 2025: Veerkracht / Resilience

Met The Great War Remembered Concert herdenken we elk jaar zij die vielen in de Vlaamse velden. In de kathedraal van Ieper worden muziek, beeld en herinnering samengebracht in een krachtig eerbetoon.

Het thema in 2025 is Veerkracht - de stille kracht van de soldaat, de moed van burgers die hun leven heropbouwden, en het doorzettingsvermogen van een stad die blijft herinneren. Dit concert vertelt hun verhaal via muziek en originele beelden uit de oorlog.

Door hun veerkracht te herdenken, bevestigen we onze inzet voor vrede en vrijheid.

Each year, The Great War Remembered concert honours the memory of those who fell in Flanders Fields. In the historic setting of Ieper’s cathedral, music, images, and history come together to reflect on the sacrifice made for our freedom.

The 2025 theme is Resilience - the quiet strength of soldiers in the trenches, the endurance of civilians rebuilding their lives, and the determination of a city that rose from the ruins to remember. This concert brings their stories to life through music and authentic wartime images.

By remembering their resilience, we renew our commitment to peace and freedom.
