The Dana School of Music is excited to invite flutists to YSU’s Flute Day on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Bliss Recital Hall!
This full-day event runs from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with registration beginning at 8:30 AM. Admission is free and open to the public, though registration is required. Designed to inspire and enhance flute playing, YSU Flute Day will feature performances, workshops, and masterclasses for flutists of all levels.
The event features guest artist Mimi Stillman, internationally acclaimed soloist and Artist-in-Residence at Temple University’s Boyer College of Music and Dance. She will present a masterclass, workshop, and recital, and Professor Emily Sapa will lead an Alexander Technique workshop.
The schedule also includes time for lunch and exploring exhibits, culminating in a closing Flute Choir Concert featuring flutists from the Dana School of Music.
High school students in grades 9–12 are invited to participate in the High School Honors Flute Choir, where they will rehearse and perform an advanced flute ensemble piece alongside Dana School of Music flutists. These students will take part in all Flute Day activities and perform in the final Flute Ensemble concert.
Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from outstanding artists, connect with fellow musicians, and celebrate the art of flute playing. Register online at ysu.edu/flute-day.
