- **Event Description**: We are thrilled to present the Side-by-Side Honor Band Concert, an opportunity for high school musicians to perform alongside the YSU Wind Ensemble on November 1, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. inside Stambaugh Auditorium! 

High school musicians will spend the day at Youngstown State University, rehearsing and participating in masterclasses alongside Dana School of Music faculty and students at Bliss Hall before taking the stage for an evening performance with the YSU Wind Ensemble. 

The concert will feature a diverse and exciting selection of works, including Children’s March by Percy Grainger, Allerseelen by Richard Strauss, and Festal Scenes by Yasuhide Ito. Professor Joseph Hermann, Director of Bands Emeritus at Tennessee Tech University and Dr. Butler’s former college band director, will join us as a guest conductor for the evening.
