Celebrate the holiday weekend and the arrival of kayak season with a paddle on Lake Newport in Mill Creek MetroParks. Explore the wetlands with a naturalist and take in the views from the water. All experience levels are welcome!
WHO: 18+
WHEN: May 25th, 2025 @ 12 PM *Please arrive a half hour early to fill out waivers and get fitted for equipment.
WHERE: Mill Creek MetroParks- Lake Newport. Meet at the East Newport boat ramp on East Newport Drive. You can access East Newport Drive from either Shields Rd. or Brookwood Rd. in Boardman or Kiwatha Rd in Youngstown (off Glenwood Ave). We suggest using the Google Maps navigation app to get there.
DETAILS: You can bring your own kayak or use one of ours. Suggested personal items to bring: sunscreen, bug spray, hat, sunglasses, drinking water, snacks, hand sanitizer, and binoculars. Please wear shoes that can get wet and have a back strap(no flip-flops or Crocs).
FEE: $30 rental/$15 BYOK
